AWS Cloud Platform Engineer

We are looking for a senior Cloud engineer with extensive experience relevant to most parts of our platform, which is mission-critical for the energy transition. You should be adept at building solid IT-4-IT cloud solutions and play an advisory, supportive, and facilitating role. Topics such as continuity & recovery, security hardening, and cost optimization should be your areas of interest. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, empathetic towards other DevOps teams, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a proven track record in consulting, support, troubleshooting, and developing complex solutions. The candidate should be independent, and willing to learn and work in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 4+ years of AWS expertise
• Preferred: Solution Architect and SysOps Administrator certifications
• Experience with security aspects of cloud environments, particularly AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Security Lake
• Minimum 4+ years of experience with Terraform
• Preferred: Terraform Associate certification

Responsibilities

• Work on the foundation of EDSN’s IT solutions on AWS using Account vending, based on RedHat OpenShift (ROSA) and its building blocks
• Support and guide DevOps teams with cloud-related queries
• Set up and maintain network infrastructure, security, and integrations with SaaS services in the AWS Cloud
• Develop according to Infrastructure-as-code principles using Terraform, Helm, and occasionally CDK via GitOps
• Enable BizDevOps teams to use and configure building blocks through self-service automation you develop
• Collaborate actively with DevOps teams to deploy building blocks effectively
• Encourage and participate in the development of automated processes

Skills

• Social skills and a proactive attitude
• Extensive experience in Cloud development and Infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, Helm)
• Proficiency in automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Ruby, Go)
• Knowledge of scalable and distributed environments
• Experience with various communication protocols (e.g., REST, Streaming, bulk connections) and availability mechanisms (e.g., circuit breaker, retry mechanisms, Service Mesh)
• Experience with database solutions such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB
• Extensive experience with Continuous Delivery/Deployment systems (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, GitHub, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD)
• Preferred: Experience with ITSM processes and SAFe and Agile Scrum methodologies
• Proficient in DevOps working style
